- What size excavator will my site need?
- It comes down to access width, the volume of material and how close the dig is to structures or boundaries. A 1.7 to 5 tonne machine handles most tight suburban work, while bulk earthworks on acreage are faster and cheaper with larger gear.
- Do I need to locate services before excavation starts?
- Yes. Underground water, sewer, power and telecommunications are located and marked before any digging, and we hand dig or vacuum around anything close. Skipping that step is how a small job becomes an expensive one.
- What happens to the spoil from the dig?
- Clean material is often reused on site as compacted fill, driveway subgrade or landscape shaping. Anything surplus or unsuitable is carted to a lawful disposal point, and we work that out at quoting so the cost is not a surprise.
